Behind the Scenes with a Moving Industry Veteran: An Interview with Mike, a Siracusa Driver

A veteran in the moving industry, Mike has worked with various moving companies for over forty years. To say he’s a true professional would be an understatement. A dedicated employee, Mike has been with Siracusa Moving and Storage for almost six years, bringing his vast experience and reliability to the job. Throughout his career, Mike has gained invaluable insight from diverse experiences, making him a seasoned professional with the knowledge to handle any challenge that may arise.

Freedom and Variety: The Perks of the Job
When asked what he enjoys about his work, Mike shared, “The flexibility and freedom of not having an office. I get to go out, see different places, and interact with a diverse group of people. Each day is different and filled with a new set of challenges, which keeps things exciting.”

Life Outside of Work
When not on the road, what do you enjoy doing? “Working on and fixing old cars, which is something my son and I enjoy doing together,” Mike says. “I also enjoy fishing and spending time with my wife, like going to the movies.”

A Great Boss Makes a Difference
Mike’s favorite part about working at Siracusa is the owner, Dan Siracusa. “Dan is the best boss. He’s a caring, charitable guy who’s very uplifting. He treats customers fairly, and is truly a pleasure to work for.”

Memorable Moves: From Everyday Homes to Celebrity Clients
When asked about his favorite relocation story, Mike instantly mentioned relocating Mary Kay, the founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics. While working for Atlantic, he was tasked with moving her to a new mansion in Dallas. Mike recalls that she was a very nice, kind lady, but one part of the move struck him as particularly interesting. A news article had just come out about how Mary Kay didn’t drink alcohol, yet during the move, he filled a 26-foot trailer entirely with liquor. The irony of this was both surprising and humorous to him.

Before Your Driver Arrives
Before he arrives, Mike wants his customers to know, “I’m always early, and I treat my customers the way I would want to be treated.” Growing up with a military father instilled in him the mindset that “on-time is actually late.” Customers can rest assured they’re in the best hands with Mike as their driver. He’s committed to treating them with the utmost respect and being the kind of driver he’d trust to move his own belongings.
